Wet/Dry Vacuums

Wet/Dry Vacuums

Powerful Cleanup for Liquid Spills and Dry Debris

Wet/dry vacuums from Grimeworks handle what a standard vacuum can't — liquid spills, slurry, and heavy dry debris — in machines built to move fluid safely through the system without damage, alongside dedicated dry-soil canister and upright vacuums for daily commercial maintenance. Whether you're cleaning up routine spills, running daily maintenance vacuuming, or responding to a flood emergency, our lineup covers the full range.

Our catalog is anchored by NaceCare's extensive canister and upright vacuum range, with additional wet/dry vacuums from Mosquito, Mercury, and TASKI, plus the Sandia Sniper flood pumper for high-volume water extraction.

Wet/Dry Vacuums vs. Flood Pumpers

It's worth understanding this distinction, since both fall under this category but serve different jobs:

General Wet/Dry & Dry-Soil Vacuums — Built for routine cleanup of spills, slurry, and dry debris in commercial and industrial facilities, plus dedicated dry-soil canister and upright models for daily maintenance vacuuming.

Flood Pumpers — Purpose-built for continuous, high-volume water extraction during flood remediation and water damage restoration, rated in GPM (gallons per minute) rather than just tank capacity. For a wider selection of dedicated flood pumping equipment, see our Water Filtration Systems category.

If your facility needs routine spill cleanup or daily dry-soil vacuuming, our general lineup covers it. If you're facing active flooding, the Sandia Sniper below — or the additional flood pumpers on our Water Filtration Systems page — are the dedicated tools for that job.

Choosing the Right Wet/Dry Vacuum

Tank Capacity — Larger tanks reduce how often you stop to empty during continuous cleanup; smaller tanks trade capacity for portability.

Wet Capability vs. Dry-Only — Confirm whether you need true wet pickup or just heavy-duty dry soil recovery — several NaceCare models in this range are optimized specifically for dry debris and fine dust rather than liquid recovery.

Motor Configuration — Dual-motor and 2-stage motor systems deliver stronger, more consistent suction than single-motor designs.

GPM Rating (Flood Pumpers) — For flood pumpers specifically, gallons-per-minute rating tells you how fast the machine can remove standing water — the single most important spec for restoration work.

Squeegee & Recovery Tools — A dedicated squeegee attachment channels water and slurry directly into the vacuum intake, which matters for hard-floor recovery after mopping or flooding.

Cordless vs. Corded — Cordless models like the NaceCare WVB 370NX offer flexibility for spaces without convenient outlet access, while corded models offer unlimited runtime.

Getting the Most from Your Wet/Dry Vacuum

Never Run Dry Filters in Wet Mode — Most wet/dry vacuums require a filter change or removal before switching to wet pickup; running a dry-mode filter during wet cleanup can damage it and reduce suction.

Watch the Float Valve — Wet/dry vacuums use a float valve to shut off suction once the tank is full; if suction suddenly drops during wet pickup, check the float before assuming something's broken.

Match Equipment to the Emergency — For actual flood response, a GPM-rated flood pumper built for continuous operation will outperform a general wet/dry vacuum that needs frequent tank emptying.

Clean and Dry Tanks After Wet Use — Residual moisture left in a tank between uses can lead to odor and mold growth over time.
