Chemical-Free Sanitizing Power
Commercial steam cleaners from Grimeworks use high-temperature vapor to clean and sanitize surfaces using nothing but water — no bleach, no chemical disinfectants, no residue left behind. Steam above 212°F kills bacteria, viruses, and mold on contact, which is why steam cleaning has become a go-to method in food prep areas, healthcare settings, and any environment where chemical residue is a concern.
Our lineup includes options from Bissell and Vapamore, spanning everyday steam mops up to heavy-duty commercial steam cleaning systems.
What Makes Steam Cleaning Different
Unlike mopping or chemical disinfecting, steam cleaning sanitizes using heat alone. Because it uses so little water, surfaces dry within minutes rather than staying damp — which matters both for slip hazards and for how quickly a cleaned area can go back into use. Steam also penetrates grout lines, crevices, and textured surfaces that a mop or wipe-down simply glides over, lifting embedded grime along with killing the bacteria living in it.
Choosing the Right Commercial Steam Cleaner
Temperature & Pressure — Most commercial-grade steamers operate at higher PSI and boiler temperatures than residential models, which matters for actual sanitizing power rather than just surface cleaning. Higher pressure drives steam into porous surfaces and crevices where the heat does its real work.
Application Type — A steam mop is built specifically for sealed hard floors, while a full steam cleaning system with attachments handles a much wider range of surfaces — countertops, tile, upholstery, and more.
Boiler Design — Continuous-fill systems let you add water without stopping the job, while single-boiler designs need to cool and refill once empty — worth considering if you're running long cleaning sessions.
Surface Range — If you only need to sanitize hard floors, a dedicated steam mop is simpler and less expensive. If you need to cover multiple surface types, a full commercial steam cleaning system with interchangeable tools offers far more versatility.

Getting the Most from Your Commercial Steam Cleaner
Match the Machine to the Surface — Sealed hard floors are the safe zone for most steam mops; check manufacturer guidance before using steam on unsealed wood, laminate, or delicate finishes, since excess heat and moisture can cause damage.
Use Distilled Water Where Recommended — Some systems perform better and last longer with distilled water, which reduces mineral buildup in the boiler over time.
Let the Boiler Reach Full Temperature — Steam cleaners need time to heat before they reach sanitizing temperatures; using the machine before it's fully heated undercuts the sanitizing benefit you're relying on.
Don't Oversaturate — More steam isn't always better; excess moisture on certain surfaces can lead to longer dry times or streaking rather than a cleaner result.
